The problem

Why Pegasus Logistics Group Approached HollandParker?

Pegasus Logistics Group’s “Journey to BI” revealed significant inefficiencies in their existing data management system, a manually intensive mix of Excel and PowerBI. Hindered by infrequent data refresh rates and a lack of integration with core systems like Workday Financials, CargoWise, WorldTrak, and SQL Server, the company struggled with data inconsistencies and missed revenue opportunities. The outdated architecture impeded the creation of a holistic view necessary for timely decision-making and financial agility.

In response, Pegasus sought a modern platform to cleanse their data ecosystem, streamline Master Data Management (MDM), and provide real-time visibility across finance and operations. This transformation was aimed at equipping stakeholders with the tools to identify new revenue streams and drive the business forward, leaving behind the limitations of a once-a-day data refresh bottleneck that had challenged the organization’s scalability and growth.

The Solution

Selecting Incorta

Pegasus Logistics Group (PLG) aimed to harness Incorta as a robust Enterprise Data Platform, capable of delivering insights from vast datasets, featuring millions of records, with remarkable speed and efficiency. Incorta’s high-frequency data loading and swift query response times, often under a second, promised a singular source of truth for PLG’s data needs.

This choice facilitated direct connections to a variety of data sources, including Workday, CargoWise, WorldTrak, and SQL Server, significantly enhancing data volume handling. Incorta streamlined the reporting environment, delivering agility and reducing the time and personnel required for generating new insights, thereby minimizing reliance on manual Excel processing. The platform also ensured a comprehensive view of operations, enabling data drilling and filtering by essential metrics, and offered robust downstream analytics and visualizations through integration with PowerBI.

Benefits Achieved

Pegasus Logistics Group has realized significant benefits from implementing Incorta, with a key advantage being the elimination of manual ELT/ETL tasks. This advancement has allowed the company to harness the full capabilities of PowerBI for robust reporting and actionable insights. Their data refresh frequency has quadrupled, with updates now occurring four times per day, which bolsters their confidence in data-driven decision-making.

This enhanced data infrastructure supports a comprehensive understanding of customer profitability, providing a 360-degree view that is pivotal in making informed decisions about new contracts or Statements of Work (SOWs). As Pegasus continues to grow, the scalability of the Incorta platform to handle large volumes of data becomes ever more critical, ensuring that Pegasus’s data management infrastructure remains a cornerstone of their business strategy.

Looking Ahead

With Incorta’s implementation complete, Pegasus’s reporting team has gained proficiency in generating custom reports. Looking forward, Pegasus anticipates leveraging IncortaX’s upcoming AI/ML enhancements to unlock further insights from their unified data. The collaboration with HollandParker continues to be a cornerstone, fostering ongoing growth and innovation within Pegasus’s business operations.
